About Benjamin Ligan
Long-Distance Runner — Charlotte, NC
Benjamin Ligan — also known as Ben Ligan — is a marketing graduate of The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business with a minor in personal finance, currently based in Charlotte, North Carolina. His professional background includes Sarbanes-Oxley internal audit compliance and client service operations. He is focused on building a long-term career in wealth management.
Benjamin has developed a disciplined long-distance running practice centered on building real endurance. He is currently training for the Charleston Half Marathon, combining structured weekly mileage with strength training, mobility work, and careful attention to recovery and fueling. Miles & Momentum is where he writes about what actually works in training.
“Show up, stay consistent, trust the process.”
— Benjamin Ligan
The Running Practice
Benjamin’s running is grounded in consistency over intensity. He trains around a full-time work schedule, fitting in structured weekly mileage, long runs, and strength sessions without burning out. His focus right now is on building a solid aerobic base ahead of the Charleston Half Marathon.
He writes about pacing, running in Charlotte’s heat and humidity, fueling strategies for long runs, and the strength training movements that actually help runners stay injury-free. No motivation content — just honest writing about what the training looks like week to week.
During his time at Ohio State, Benjamin competed on the Men’s Club Volleyball team for four years, contributing to two national runner-up finishes. He also served as treasurer for Buckeye Buddies, a student organization supporting young people with developmental disabilities. The discipline and consistency from those years carried directly into his approach to running.
